NISSAN OUTBOARDS

Value. Performance. Durability. Nissan Marine is the brand boaters trust when it comes to their outboard motor needs. Missan Marine offers a limited two year warranty that is one of the best you'll find in the industry. Available in 16 different power levels, ranging from 2.5 HP up to 140 HP, each of the 50 different marine models is built to last. All crankshafts, bearings, connection rods and pistons are designed for extra durability and wear, and water pumps are stainless steel-lined in all but the smallest engines. All motors include five-layer corrosion protection, a coating of succeeding layers of zinc chromate primer and a durable enamel finish to inhibit corrosion in the toughest of marine environments.

The 40D model on the right is a good example of Nissan's mid-range engines - tough, affordable and versatile enough for a large range of inflatable boats. With 3-cylinders and dual swirl combustion chambers, it offers extraordinary power for its horsepower class. These are Nissan's best selling models.

CD ignition, standard on all models, provides quicker starts, long spark plug life and maximum fuel efficiency. Loop charged induction is another standard feature. Nissan Marine's standard safety stop-switch and lanyard mounted cutoff switch are important safety features that no boater should be without.

The 4 and 3 cylinder models include Nissan's "Primary Lubrication Utilization System" PLUS, which mixes oil and gas automatically according to engine speed for max fuel economy and lower emissions. All but the smallest portables include important features such as a themostatically controlled cooling system, through -the-prop exhaust and start-in-gear protection. The shallow water drive system is featured on the 2-cylinder 40 HP down to the 5 HP models.

The 40C, 30, and 25 HP motors are the most powerful 2-cylinder engines in the Nissan line. They offer a choice of 15" or 20" shaft lengths, both manual and electric start and tiller handle and remote control versions.

The 18, 15, 9.9, 9.8 and 8 HP 2-cylinder motors offer a compact package with low weights, from just over 59 lbs, to just under 82 lbs. These high-end portables feature through-the-prop exhaust, thermostatically controlled cooling, start-in-gear protection, stainless steel water pump, dual swirl combutions heads, plus shallow water drive.

The 5, 3.5, and 2.5 HP portable motors are light enough to carry, at about 28 lbs. å remarkable level of power is packed into these tiny performers !

There are leaders, and there are followers. Wherever there is water, there is one name that is synonymous with outboard power, performance and proven technology -- Today and into the furture. In America and around the world, one name leads the way. Setting the standard for an entire industry to follow. Introducing innovations others can only hope to emulate. YAMAHA OUTBOARDS.

Outboard technology takes the high road with the 1998 Yamaha line-up. We added a full array of multi-function LCD instrumentation. Never content to leave well-enough alone, Yamaha engineers began designing outboards to think for themselves. With an autochoke that is truly automatic. And an oil injection system that delivers the precise amount of oil based on the engine load. Even the first outboard EFI to rival the sophistication of the automobile. If that were not enough, we took on corrosion - and won - with an industry leading anit-corrosion system that is nothing short of revolutionary. What's new for 1998? Plenty! Out compact P40 is big news. Or, if you really lust for power, try one of our new 3.1 liter Fuel Injected V MAX's on for size. There are two new Four Strokes to choose from, a new 2-cylinder portable, a new 115 HP Inshore for flats fishing, and the unbeatable value/performance equation in our three new C-Series outboards. But one thing never changes, If you're looking for leading-edge outboard technology, all signs point to Yamaha.

For example, notice the Twin prop 150 HP V-MAX on the left. Leave it to Yamaha to create the world's first outboard with Twin Rotation Propellers. Two propellers counter-rotating in perfect synchronization. You get twice the bite, with balanced thrust to offset steering torque, so you know you're going to get better hole-shot. Outboard performace has taken an exciting new turn !

Salt Water Series. Yamaha offers a special line of outboards geared for the Salt water. These motors deep-six salt water corrosion! How? You make it your number-one priority! It took ten years of unrelenting research and development for Yamaha to find the answer. The breakthrough was our creation of YDC-30, a revolutionary alloy of aluminum, silicon, magnesium and titanium that provides unrivaled corrosion resistance. All critical engine components are not only made of durable stainless steel, a special zinc coating is applied. Self-sacrificing anodes are over-sized and strategically placed throughout. Saltwater and debris are kept at bay with one-peice covers sealed tight with our exclusive Sure-Seal Tri-Latches. Yamaha's exclusive five-stage painting process adds more than just a beautiful finish as well. It's safe to say, saltwater has finally met it match !

Portables, something very important to the inflatable boat enthusiast. Yamaha has a quick solution to your search for a portable. They're not only amoung the lightest outboards in existance, they're quick to respond to your every demand. Yamaha's effortless, 360 steering definitely give you more moves for your money - it even allows you to jump into reverse without shifting. We've added a redesigned 2-cylinder 25 HP Portable for 1998, as seen on the left. So now there are ten powerful Portables, from 2 to 25 HP, in 1, 2, and 3-cylinder models.

Four Stokes of Genius. It's 50 % quieter, runs 50% cleaner. It has features usually only found on Formula One race cars - like an inertial charge system that creates a supercharge effect to boost power, while reducing fuel consumpton by 30%. Putting a Yamaha Four Stroke on your boat may be one of the smatest choices you'll ever make. And now you have two more choices, out new F15 four stroke is the largest-displacement 15 HP engine in the world, outperforming many two storkes in its class. Out new F25 model boasts a sleek, low profile, ideal for inflatables and small tenders. Both offer a superior low-vibration design and convenient throttle and steering friction controls for easy operation. Not to mention the many innovative Yamaha features that make every Yamaha Four Stroke a brilliant performer.
